To the tech community, slash n 2018 needs no introduction. In the coder’s lexicon, slash n denotes a new line of code. Metaphorically, the fifth edition of Flipkart’s flagship technology event heralds a new beginning, bringing together experts from across the globe to converge in Bengaluru on April 5 & 6 for thought-provoking sessions. The core theme underpinning slash n 2018 is artificial intelligence and Flipkart’s ‘AI for India’ program. The keynote speakers on Day 2 of slash n 2018 is Dr Luo Si, Principal Engineer/Senior Director of Alibaba Group Inc. As the world relies increasingly on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) to solve everyday problems, the ‘AI For India’ program leverages Flipkart’s tech and data prowess to build unique and scalable AI-powered solutions for a country whose problems are just as unique. The program is centered on the conviction that in India, AI must empower every citizen by easing their interactions with tech systems and processes.
On the opening day of slash n 2018, April 5, Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal will deliver the keynote address. Sachin is passionate about Flipkart’s ‘AI for India’ program and had articulated in a Q&A with Flipkart Stories how data scientists must rise to the challenge of solving problems unique to India.
Dr Luo Si, Principal Engineer/Senior Director of Alibaba Group Inc, will deliver the keynote address on April 6. Dr Luo Si is the Chief Scientist of Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Alibaba DAMO Institute of Machine Intelligence Technologies. He leads a cross-country team in China, USA and Singapore with focus on developing cutting-edge technologies in natural language processing, machine translation, text mining and information retrieval. His keynote on Natural Language Processing (NLP) — R&D in Alibaba will throw light on the company’s efforts to build the NLP technique platform and machine translation (MT) platform that power Alibaba’s ecosystem.
Other speakers at slash n 2018 include Zoomcar Chief Technology Officer Vinayak Hegde, Data Scientists from Flipkart, and Machine Learning experts from Myntra.
